Zaki Husain Instructor of the Month
Zaki Husain is a well-accredited and award-winning industry professional who also instructs many classes at our Houston Training Center.
Husain has an extensive educational background beginning with obtaining his BS and Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering. After earning his BS and Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Husain went on to earn his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in Experimental Fluid Mechanics and Turbulence from The University of Houston. Husain has since worked for many companies including Daniel Industry, McCrometer Inc., Chevron, and is currently a measurement consultant for Halliburton, Danos LLC, and Bell Technologies, LLC.
Throughout his career, Husain has gathered many accomplishments and awards including but not limited to: five technical papers for refereed journals, four chapters for books published by McGraw-Hill, ISA, IEEE &CRC, over fifty technical papers for different technical conferences, symposiums, and measurement school, Laurence Reid Award for lifetime contributions to the field of oil and gas measurements, multiple awards from API for support and development, as well as the key-note speaker at the First Pipeline Transmission Conference and the 2000 International Symposium Flow Measurement.
However, Husain’s expansive and impressive background does not stop there. Husain is also the API – Chair of Liquefied Standards committee and Chair of Gas Fluids Standards Committee, ASME Chair of Flowmeter Standards committee, ISO Chair of US TAG, and member of AGA and GPA.
The list of PETEX course Husain teaches include: Natural Gas Measurement 01: Fundamentals and Meter Station Design – Application & Inspections, Natural Gas Measurement o2: Electronic Flow Measurement, Pipeline Technology – Pipeline Design, and Advanced Petroleum Measurement.
Outside of the Husain’s career, Husain enjoys watching documentary, social, suspense, and international movies and playing contract bridge. When not watching movies or playing card games, Husain also enjoys travelling all around the world. Husain has been to 45 different countries and plans to travel all 50 states of the United States of America.
