Pipeline Technology-Maintenance E-Course

This course was developed to provide training in pipeline maintenance and safety. Course includes instructional videos of experts in the field of pipeline engineering and each section includes a graded assessment. This program is recommended for engineers new to the pipeline industry or those seeking a broader understanding of pipeline operations.

The course covers the following topics:

  • Overview of regulations, inspection, and testing.
  • Line maintenance and repair.
  • Pump station maintenance.
  • Maintenance equipment.
  • Leak detection and automatic controls.
  • Corrosion.
  • Welding and materials.
  • Valve maintenance.
  • Emergency response.

Twelve (12) lessons make up the course. Each lesson consists of an instructional video presentation and a quiz. To complete the course, learners must complete all the quizzes for the modules with an overall minimum score of 70%.

The course should take approximately 30 hours to complete the modules.

Successful completion of the course will earn each learner 3.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and a badge from The University of Texas at Austin.
